Bio

Carol Filkins and husband Derrick are celebrating their 27th anniversary in 2007. Highlights of their adventures and challenges together include flyfishing in the Yucatan and their own back yard; completing marathons in Columbus, Ohio, Anchorage, Alaska, Bermuda and Honolulu, Hawaii; bicycling the Wine Country and Seacoast Century Rides; fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; nurturing numerous stray animals; and recovering from back and feet surgeries. Carol and Derrick live with Holly, their golden retriever, and their four cats on Indianapolis's northside, and enjoy spending time with their family of friends. (Her distinctive laugh will usually tell you where they are gathered!)

Carol Filkins, MS, CLL

Carol earned degrees in sociology and business from Anderson University and a Master's Degree in Wellness Management, minor in Counseling Psychology, from Ball State University. She is a Certified Laughter Leader and has completed a post graduate Advanced Certification in Formative Spirituality.

Carol has worked in retail customer service, receiving and solving complaints; in social services, planning and delivering wellness programs for older adults; in health and fitness programming and facility management for the YMCA; in health promotion for St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis, and in leisure services for an independent living senior community. Currently she is on faculty of St. Vincent Health's Seton Cove Spirituality Center. She also provides contractual telephonic health coaching through a Michigan-based company. She is founder of Wellness Endeavors, Inc.
